Vegetarian food in Puerto Vallarta? Yes!
Puerto Vallarta is a modern Mexican city that is obviously influenced by the United States. I thought I was going to practice my Spanish, but just about everywhere I went the locals wanted to speak English with me, so that they could practice.
When looking for vegetarian food, you'll need to ask about ingredients. Just like in the US, not everyone will understand that fish is not vegetarian nor are beans made with lard. Hence, if you ask, you will find many delicious vegetarian foods and drinks.
The climate in Puerto Vallarta is great for growing cacao. You may see some growing alongside a road, but it needs to be processed before you can eat it.
Enjoy chocolate in Mexican desserts and in mole sauce.
